Milford Galleries 18 Dowling Street, Dunedin
Housed in an historic building dating to 1883, which was once home to the Hallenstein Bro’s Clothing Store, Milford Galleries features acclaimed New Zealand artists regularly changing exhibiting artists on a 3-4 week basis. The Gallery’s raison d’être is to foster New Zealand’s connection with the international art stage.
Portobello Gallery
At the heart of the quaint township of Portobello along the Peninsula Road, this gallery exudes charm. It is located in the historic General Store building (built 1874) and has an affinity with local and New Zealand artists work.
The Blue Oyster Gallery Basement, 24B Moray Place, Dunedin
Regarded as Dunedin’s avant-garde gallery, the Blue Oyster is a non-profit and non-commercial organisation allowing artists from all walks of life to experiment freely in an unconstrained environment.
Well worth checking out for its dedication to the development of the arts, the Blue Oyster gallery is made up of practicing artists, curators and other creative professionals and always pertains to its high-quality, dynamic program.

Gallery De Novo 101 Stuart St, Dunedin
Divided into three levels, this gallery/studio features original works of local and New Zealand artists. A spectacular building has hosted over 50 amazing artists with the lower floor encompassing a picture framing service (certified Fine Art Trade Guild framers).
This creative splendour is situated halfway between the Dunedin Railway Station and the Octagon and is open daily.
